My desktop background’s black
Well, you wonder why my desktop background’s black?
Why you never see bright colors on my Mac?
And why does my crypto-clearance seem to have somber tone?
Well, there’s a reason for the things that I turn on.
I fly the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin’ in their headphones, on the angry side of town.
I wear it for the hackers who’ve long been doing time,
But are there because they made them up a crime.
Well, we’ve got a DSL lines, I do suppose,
We’ve got jumbo jets, flash cars and UFO’s
But just so we’re reminded of the ones who are held back,
My desktop background continues to be black.
Aw, I’d love to use a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything’s OK.
But until the RIAA yields to my dictionary attack,
Till things are brighter, I’m the man in black.
